FDE-005 TUDOR TIMES 1 DISK / £3.95 2MB Chip RAM
@3
This program has not been designed as a replacement for your history books
but rather as a supplementary and interesting way of looking at the subject
and is meant to wet your appetite for this intriguing and most satisfying
of subjects, the history of these islands.
The program runs from the battle of Bosworth in August 1485, when the first
of the Tudors took the throne until the death of the last, Elizabeth, in
1603. Operation is simplicity itself. All you do is type the year you
would like to go to, press enter, type the month and press enter. Once
you're into the Main screen, the N and M keys retreat or advance a month,
the T and Y keys retreat or advance a year.

A valuable resource for students providing a comprehensive guide to the
fascinating world of physics. It uses text, graphics, and animations to
make learning more involving and less daunting.
Physics tutor consists of two disks, the first one being the main tutor
program and the second a stand alone exam questions program. The subjects
covered are all essentials needed to pass GCSE Physics, it includes Light &

accompanied by diagrams, animations, notes, and example Q&A.
These practice questions are multiple choice, answered by a mouse click,
there is also a "HINT" button. The second disk contains the full exam
questions, this time with no hints. The questions offer students a high
level of interactivity and immediate feedback. Twelve questions are
available for each section.
Designed specifically to meet the needs of pupils, this two disk set would

FDE-002 HISTORY MACHINE version II 1 DISK / £3.95 2MB Chip RAM
@5
Have you ever let your mind wander and wondered what it would be like to be
in this locale at some time in the past... Picture yourself in the crowd
outside the Banqueting Hall at the Palace of Westminster. The silent people
stand in thousands far off. The steady beat of a tattoo and the pawing of a
horses hoof are the only sounds to break this strange, eerie silence.
Soldiers, horse and foot, their heads bent against the drizzle from a
mournful sky, surround the black scaffold, on which stand two masked
headsmen beside the block. There, head held high, stands Charles Stuart,
Bishop Juxon in silent prayer by his side. It is Tuesday the 30th January
1649 and England is about to lose another King... Or maybe you would just
like to know on what day your Aunt Nellie was born.
Delve into this huge program anywhere from year 1AD to the present day and
you will find fascinating information about the last 2000 years of history
of these islands. Kings and Queens who have reigned over us; battles and
wars that have been fought for us; men and women of all nations who have
over the years made an impact on our way of life, actors, authors, painters,
and of course politicians; they are all referred to in The History Machine.

@5

Winner of the Dec'96 Amiga Format "Readers Games Award" and awarded 95% by
Amiga User International.
@3
This is a great game and no mistake. You control a little green bird

Bird is a platformer with the added features of breakout, which creates an
whole new playing experience. There are loads of things to collect and

FDG-023 BEASTIES II 1 DISK / £3.95 KS2+ & 2MB RAM
@5
Please notice that this is "Beasties II" and not "Beasties". That is
because, some of you may well already have the full version of Beasties.
It has been on both the CU Amiga and Amiga Format magazine CDs as well as
being stocked by most PD libraries. It was a infact a trial version to see
if the game engine worked and it did!!
The gameplay is a cross between "Scorched Tanks" and "Worms". It is a two
player only game were each player controls a tiny creature (Beastie),
using the mouse and keyboard. CD³² joypads are also supported and work
very well.
The aim of the game is to destroy your mates Beastie by using a selection
of deadly weapons:
@7 * Explosive Shotgun
@3 * Dynamite
@7 * Club
@3 * Clockwork Mouse
@7 * Lazer
@3 * Come 'ere!
@7 * Dirt Balls
@5
You are also armed with some very useful tools, which allow you to move
around the landscape or get out of tight corners:

a custom level template for use in your paint package. A selection of
ready made extra levels will be available soon from your usual PD library.
A great game which will keep you playing for hours.

FDG-022 WHITE RABBITS 1 DISK / £3.95
@1
Great new arcade puzzle created by Andrew Campbell of Black Dragon Design.
As usual the presentation of the game is superb, it works on any 1MB Amiga
and includes a whole host of options, including:
@2* Music or SoundFX. (by Mike Richmond)
@3* Number of Lives.
@2* Warning Chime for Countdown Clock.
@3* HiScore Table.
@2* Easy to Hareloss Levels.
@3* Passcode System.
@1
White rabbits is a puzzle game in which you have to rescue a helpless bunny
by guiding him to the exit doors. You control a small cursor in an attempt
to lure the rabbit onto the tiles which slide around. There are 60 levels
divided into 4 groups of 15.
Everything is done with the joystick, the firebutton is used to click onto
the tiles. Some of the tiles will slide around until they hit another
object, other tiles are static and clicking on any of these will lure the
rabbit onto them. Highly recommended.
@4
FDG-021 BOUNCY 1 DISK / £3.95
@5
Bouncy the spaceball is lost in space, poor thing. Your job is to guide him
through five different areas back to his home planet. Each area features
five puzzling levels. Some are very simple, others are not. To complete a
level you must have the key that opens the exit. It may sound easy but there
are several obstacles in your path.
The game is controlled by joystick, it features a password system, and you
have the choice of two sets of backgrounds. Some of the puzzles are quite
hard so you'll need to get your brain in gear to be able to finish the game.
@4
FDG-020 EUROPEAN MANAGER 1 DISK / £3.95 1MB CHIP RAM

@5
Your team has been chosen for a place in the new European League, but
unfortunately you have been placed in the Third Division. You have £5,000,000
to take your team to the Premier League and challenge Europe`s best.
*New Feature* TACTICS/PLAYING STYLE...This is where you choose your team
formation. The players positions are indicated by their
team numbers on the pitch. Selecting any of the six
formations will change the positions. Try to think of
tactics that will work, like a 4-4-2, short passing,
counter attack.
*New Feature* EDITOR...You can load your saved data into the editor & change
your team name, stadium and the names of the stands.
*New Feature* BALL CONTROL...During the game you will have the chance to
score for your team if they are playing well. You will see the

ball, choose correctly and you may well score.
This is a well executed and absorbing football management game with loads of
options plus animated game play. For anyone who bought British Manager this
game is a must. Great stuff, highly recommended.
@4
FDG-019 PARASITE II 1 DISK / £3.95
@1
Brilliant first person perspective RPG - in other words as though you are
`inside' the game world, viewing it through your own eyes - written by Shaun
Watters and featuring graphix by Tim Gilbert of ZSoft.
The year is 4791, you and a friend .... STOP!! That's enough of a storyline,
nobody reads the bloody things anyway.
This is a one or two player roleplaying/shoot'em up/maze game. Basically you
and a buddy, (if in two player mode) have to wander around a number of maze
complexes, blasting baddies, collecting bags of gold, and then bugger off
home. Simple as that or is it? However easy it may sound from this brief
description the game is great fun to play with plenty of puzzles to solve.
The program can save six separate positions, three for one player mode and
three for two player mode, the computer will detect the correct save mode.
Well that's it really, another great value for money, high quality game
begging to be snapped up and played. Can you clear the base of PaRaSiTeS???
@4
FDG-018 HIDEOUS 1 DISK / £3.95
@3
This is quite a cruel name to call the game, drawing everyone's attention to
the main characters quite dodgy looks, after all I'm sure that his mother
thinks he's rather cute!!
Well let's see if I can explain the plot, Hideous is a mythical beast, who's
aim in life is to collect diamonds, weapon powerups, and then try to reach
the level exit before being killed. Now you might be saying that it's a bit
of a thin plot and you'd be right, but Mark Sheeky who wrote the program as
created one hell of a great game around that slender storyline. The graphix
are superb and feature full parallax scrolling. The range of weapons at your
disposal are selected by using the joystick and keyboard, they consist of:
@7 * Standard Gun
@4 * Webnet
@7 * Smart Bomb
@4 * High Pitched Scream
@7 * Missile
@3
You'll see from the above list that Hideous is no ordinary monster, his
"high pitched scream" can shatter walls and kill enemies, a very useful
gift. The gameplay is a mixture of platform/shoot'em up with 50 levels and
will keep you playing for hours. A selection of cheats are also available in
exchange for large amounts of cash ;) Hideous will load and run on any 1MB
Amiga, but an A1200 is highly recommended to produce the best results.
@4
FDG-017 CASINO 1 DISK / £3.95
@5
You have £10,000 to gamble away at the CASINO. Will you get lucky and make a
million? This is a great compilation with five gambling games to choose
from:
@3 Poker, BlackJack, Roulette, Craps or a Fruit Machine.
@5
You can play any game at anytime. Which ever game you choose, except the
fruit machine, you will initially be given the choice to bet or quit the
game.
You don't have to be an hardened cardsharp or cigar smoking playboy to get
into the games, the interface is easy to use plus full docs and rules are
included on the disk to help you play. Winnings from each one of the games
is transferred to a central pot, so pile up the cash on your best game and
then you can afford to lose a few quid whilst working out the best strategy
on one of the others. A high score table shows the top gamblers and biggest
mugs.
One last thing, paying just £3.95 for this great collection is one bet that
you can't lose. Great value and great fun.
@4
FDG-015 ROTATOR 2 DISKS / £4.95
@7
This could just be the best arcade platform/puzzler ever!! Created by Tim
Gilbert and Shaun Watters, it's a feast of colour, superb graphix,
atmospheric soundFX, and the most addictive gameplay you're ever likely to
get your hands on.
The object of the game is to collect all the diamonds on each level and then
get to the exit, each level is filled with traps & puzzles, some of which
seem to be impossible at first to solve. A steady hand is needed to control
your little craft pass the spikes and huge drops. The game comes with many
options to allow you to customise the sensitivity of the "rotator", the
amount of bounce, & will even allow use of two button joysticks. A replay
feature is available which records your latest level and allows you to
checkout just where you went wrong and regain control before disaster
strikes. Rotator is Hard Drive installable and comes with custom installer.
#8 Amiga Format's Game of the Month - July'96
@4
FDG-014 THUNDERDAWN 1 DISK / £3.95 KS2+ & 2MB Chip RAM
@6
ThunderDawn takes the usual elements from RPG games and piles on the dark
fantasy atmospherics. The result is a rather tasty full-screen experience.
You're some kind of brave hero-archer type bloke who's been imprisoned in a
sort of monster-infested maze by a rather unpleasant force of somekind.
Ahem. Yeah, and your task is to escape by collecting a sufficient amount of
Blood Crystals from the nests of a whole array of bone-rattling
creatures:hydras, phantoms, zombies, genies - you name it, ThunderDawn's got
it.
#8 Amiga Format's Game of the Month - September'96
@6
This game is superb! Unlike earlier titles from the BlackDawn series
your animated character can now be seen if you prefer, I got quite lonely
whilst moving around the maze when he was switched off ;) The playing area
is huge, dark, full of strange sounds, & basically terrifying. ThunderDawn
is best played in an empty house with the lights dimmed, and the sound
turned up. But remember it's just for fun or is it??
The game as a full suite of preferences to allow you to choose the best
setup for you and your machine, games can also be saved/loaded, and it's HD
installable. ThunderDawn does not require the AGA chip set, but does need a
minimum of 2MB ram and KickStart 2 or above.
@4
FDG-013 OUTLINER 1 DISK / £3.95 A1200 only
@3
Most of you will remember, with a tear in your eye, the many hours you spent
playing the arcade game "Asteroids". You will usually find the machines
still operating and taking plenty of cash to this day. Simple vector graphix
and addictive gameplay still attract the unsuspecting gamer to slip just one
more 10p into the slot.
Introducing "OutLiner", the next generation vector blaster, small on
graphix, BIG on gameplay. The program as been developed on a standard A1200,
so hiresolution screens and loads of great soundFX are the order of the day,
sorry but lesser equipped Amigas just couldn't cope. OutLiner contains many
game styles:
@1 * One player mode.
@4 * One player onslaught.
@1 * Opposition game.
@4 * Two player mode.
@1 * Two player onslaught.
@4 * Space war combat.
@1 * Land war combat.
@3 Plus extra features:
@4 * Craft selection.
@1 * Colour selection.
@4 * Loads custom modules.
@1 * Joystick or mouse control.
@3
This game should be in all gameplayers collections: fast, addictive, and
great fun. Recommended.
@4
FDG-012 HILT II 2 DISKS / £4.95
@1
Superb strategy/action game by Mark Sheeky and Andrew Cashmore. This is the
business, high quality graphix and top notch gameplay make Hilt II a winner
in anyone's eyes, buy this and you will not be disappointed.
When you start a game of Hilt II, you will play a mission. There are several
different missions in the game, and these can be expanded with extra mission
disks (available soon) to add to your collection. Some missions have hand
drawn maps, some maps are randomly created, so they're different each time.
This makes for an almost limitless supply of gaming fun. Every mission has a
main objective, which must be achieved to complete it. There are 6 types of
main objective:-
1. Kill all of the enemy missions.
2. Blow something up missions.
3. Retrieve objects missions.
4. Get to the exit missions.
5. 2 Player missions - Kill the other sides units.
6. Kill all of a certain type of enemy/civilian missions.
Hilt II games are played by one to six characters in one player mode or upto
eight characters in two player mode. The standard characters are robots but
you may load in whole new character sets from disk. To do this simply select
"New Game" from the options. A new screen will appear listing the campaigns,
missions, and character files available on the disk. Just click on a
character file name and the new characters will be loaded in. Also included
are a set of two player games. Hilt II can be installed to HDisk or will
run quite happily from floppy disk on any Amiga. This game is commercial
quality and no mistake.

performance, with a selection of start weapons and bullet speed. There are
loads of powerups, each with great soundFX. Choose from the weedy pistol to
the mighty interceptor, which can shoot straight through walls. My favourite
as to be the pump action shotgun.

FDG-010 P.L.E.B.S 1 DISK / £3.95
@5
A super new platformer from David Christian. But what a strange title I hear
you cry!! Well there is an explanation for it in the intro animation, but in
short it means:
*3 P.ersonal L.abour E.liminating B.iomechanoid S*1
The aim on each level is to activate all the teleporter computers and then
jump into the beam which will move you to the next level. On some levels the
computers are submerged in deep water, the only way to get to them is
activate the teleporters in sequence. The main character is very fast and
needs to be if a level is to be finished safely. Controlled by joystick, he
can kill enemies by jumping on their heads or by using his "Zapper" gun to
err, zap'em. There are three worlds each with fifteen levels and ofcause the
big nasty end of level guardians. Great little game for all ages, simple
idea, but very addictive. Runs on all Amigas and is hard drive installable.
@4

FDG-008 OG! THE CAVEMAN AGA 1 DISK / £3.95 AGA only
@1
Separated from his wife and kids by a tremendous earthquake, Og must make
his way home along the dangerous prehistoric landscape in a desperate
attempt to rescue them. Being a caveman, his only means of defence is a
stone axe, so he has to be a bit slick in the old jumping department. Some
of the gaps between the platforms are huge so this cute platformer requires
lots of skill and stick tugging to complete. There are many things to
collect along the way such as food, drink, time, and bonus coins. If you
begin to run short of time the screen gets darker to simulate nightfall. At
first glance this platformer from David Parsons looks cute and a tad easy,
but harden games players will still find plenty to keep them occupied.
@4

@3
The game is complemented with an excellent soundtrack by Shaun Watters and

@4
FDG-006 PARADOX 1 DISK / £3.95
@1
The game is easy, dead easy, NoOoT!! Just move your balls around, bang them
together and they disappear, then move onto the next level which is ofcourse
a little harder. This may seem a bit painful and perhaps not too exiting but
STOP, when you realise that Mr Andrew Campbell has created the game you'll
know that you're in for a treat. The presentation is great, the gameplay
funny, and it's very addictive.
The main character is a green ball, don't panic he's not cute, he wears
shades and yawns if you're a slow player. Controlled by the joystick he
enters the screen via a secret door, your task is to push pairs of coloured
balls together making them vanish. Various traps and puzzles are set to stop
your progress. Once the screen is cleared the exit pops up and away to the
next level you go. There are 100 levels so the password system is a boon,
can you get to level 100?
@4

@5
Most of the game is set inside an unexplored dungeon which covers fifty
levels. Each time the game is loaded fifty new levels are created so you'll
never get bored. You can collect treasure, fight monsters, or just explore

of "TaskForce", Mark Sheeky/Andrew Cashmore, and uses the same method of
control. First each friendly player will move and then each of the monsters,
during a turn you may cast spells, pick-up and drop objects. Gold can also
be collected and used for buying weapons etc.. This game will keep you
playing for hours and even give the old grey matter a work out.
@4
FDG-003 JUMPEM 1 DISK / £3.95 1MB CHIP
@3
Guide a cute little yellow character called Spud, along a path of tiles to
the exit, easy I hear you cry, but you'd be WRONG!! The idea is to progress
from level to level by jumping on and then off each tile. All of the tiles
must have disappeared before moving to the next and harder level. Of course,
there are tiles that need more than one jump to dissolve them and some will
teleport you across the screen. To help you on your way free bridge-tiles
are included, but don't get too excited, there's only three per Spud. The
action is all set against the clock. A password is given at the start of
each level, which can be used on starting up.
Jump'em is an extremely polished game which contains some arcade quality
graphics, it's fast, playable, and addictive. Well received in all Amiga
mags, with scores upto 85%.

Our website on the Internet features a "Magnetic Fiction" section and is
proving very popular with many users and is fequently visited by horror
magazine editors hungry for the superb quality stories available there.
Some of Andy's stories can now be seen in print, featured in horror mags
world wide.
Dark Portal IV features 21 stories, all created for this project and viewed
using an easy to use custom interface. The short stories range from spooky,
though weird, to darn right spine tinglers. I think that you'll get an idea
of the type of subjects to expect if I tell you a few of the story titles:
@4* Legal Genocide
* The Kiss

Some stories in Dark Portal may contain explicit language and describe
unusual scenes. Please do not order this disk if you think you may be
offended or frightened by it's contents. Although 5DL are very particular
about taking on anything offensive we feel that the use of language and
sexual depiction contained in Dark Portal are not exploitative or
gratuitous. Dark Portal contains nothing more than you can read in
off-the-shelf books from W.H.Smiths®.

@1
The Reality Music and Sample Converter is a great new program designed to
allow REALITY programmers to use almost any music module they like in their
titles. You could compose your own music on a tracker such as Octamed or
use the thousands of PD modules available and convert them into the special
format which is used in the Reality Game Engine, from B.P.M. PROMOTIONS.
But it doesn't stop there, you can also load in single samples and convert
them to a sample bank format which the Reality Game Engine also uses.
* MOD formats - OctaMed, Soundtracker, Noisetracker and Protracker.
* Sample formats - SPL, IFF, RAW and 8SUX.
* Convert module to - .MUS Format.
* Convert sample to - .SAM Format.
The program is very easy to use and as been developed by Dean Wood, with
support from B.P.M., this gives the utility a look and feel which REALITY
users will recognise immediately. Reality M&S Converter is an essential
add-on for any programmer wanting to give their work that personal touch.

FDU-006 AGASSM v7.24 1 DISK / £3.95
@5
AGASSM or AGA SlideShow Maker and its player (AGASSP) both require OS2. or
above to operate. It is a quick, easy to operate, and system friendly
slideshow creation utility.
AGASSM has a few tricks up its sleeve, so that you can produce some rather
striking slideshows while still having all the advantages of OS3.0 such as
ARexx. AGASSM is able to display IFF-pictures, play IFF-animations
(Anim5), music modules (MED (MMD0 format) & ST), IFF-samples, and execute
ARexx commands + scripts as standard. AGASSM can utilise other peoples
viewers and players to display or play file formats that are not built-in.
For instance, it can cope with MED-Modules up to MMD0 but cannot play
8-track MED-Modules as standard. This however is not a problem as Teijo
Kinnunens 'OctaMEDPlayer' has an ARexx port so, you can launch the player
and load and play an eight channel module all from AGASSM.
